this is my Brother-in-Law's 2002 Silverwing 600, scooter, we replaced the battery, battery check as good, but nothing is working, checked all fuses,

Wondering if there is a switch or reset needed when battery is disconnected?

Thanks

Hi and welcome to the Silverwing 600 Forum Mike G. From the top of this page ... "We ask that you be polite and also introduce yourself on your 1st post. The members are friendly and helpful so just have fun."

To answer your specific question, there is not a switch or reset needed when swapping out batteries. My first guess might be perhaps your ground to chassis was pulled on too strongly and has become loose or disconnected. I already make the assumption your polarity is correct.

If you mistakenly crossed the polarity when connecting the cables, you probably blew the main fuse. The fuse is located under the left side plastic cover. You should obtain a Silverwing service manual if you plan to do your own maintenance.

Possible problems:
1- It could be that the side stand is still down.
2-Check the emergency kill switch on right handle.
3- Pull harder on the left brake handle when trying to start bike.

Good luck!

Totally agree with you.  However, since he said "nothing was working", I assume he's totally dead and not even getting any idiot lights when turning the key to "ON" ... let alone trying to crank it over.

Hello Mike G,

Welcome to the site.

You don't mention what way things were prior to replacing the battery.

Was everything working well, and the battery simply wouldn't hold a charge, or had the battery been totally flat for some time?
