| I had a nice 2002 Silver Wing a few years ago. The seat hurt my bottom really bad after 25 miles or so, I sold it, but wish I hadn't. So I bought another '02 a few days ago. I intend to modify the seat to fit my bottom a little better. I've lost lots of weight, so it has more power than I expected. I have noticed that when I slow down to turn in a driveway, the belt feels like its "snatching". Its very smooth at riding speeds. Any ideas on that? Thanks. |

| Welcome to the site and congrats on getting another SWing. You may want to try de-glazing the clutch by holding on the brake and revving it up to about 4,000 rpm's for a few seconds. I did this for the 7 years I had the SWing and it is a kick fix to getting rid of a shudder. Some will take off what is needed and physically de-glaze the clutch which takes a long time. |

| JeffR, I'm new to SWings, is clutch glazing a common problem? Is it related to riding style, riding two-up? I'd appreciate any information or advice. Thanks, Tadpole |

| Tadpole,
Sometimes it happens during slow riding like in very slow traffic. It is somewhat common but I only had to de-glaze mine a few times a year. We get to filter traffic in California though. You know you need to use the technique I mentioned when you take off and it may shudder just a little bit. But the scooters with the kind of transmission like the SWing, Reflex, or even the Burgman 400. |
