2009 SWing in my garage

All,
Well...I pulled the trigger on Thursday (7/10), drove to Tucson (from Palm Springs, CA) and purchased a 2009 SW with ABS and 500 miles for $5200. No need to pay sales tax as I bought it from a private seller and only $85 to register.

Plus I have rental properties in Tucson so I just turned it into a biz trip. Road home today (Sunday)......can't say it was a fun ride. The scooter ran like a champ but the 100+ temps weren't fun.

Just out of curiosity I was under the impression a used vehicle brought to California from another state had to have something like over 7,000 miles on it. I know that I don't know what I'm talking about but the only way to learn is to ask.

There are conditions. IF the scooter is built to meet smog requirements for ALL 50 states then registration happens without a problem. If the scoot only meets the 49 state smog requirements (meaning NOT Calif.), it must have over 7500 miles before it can be registered in CA.

Seeing that most of my assets, an address and a drivers license are in AZ, I registered it there. Easy squeezy.
