05' SW parts on an 07'

Hello fellow SWingers,

In an effort to save money on buying new parts to restore my 07 SW after it was stolen, hot-wired, and given a ghetto paint job, I came upon an opportunity to buy an 05' SW for parts. The pictures indicated the bike is in good condition. My concert is, however, that the parts will not fit my bike.

Everything on the bike looks the same except for the plastic on and around the inner box area. The 05' has plastic glove box covers and my 07' has vinyl covers. Does anyone have advice on this?

Check the front forks. I believe that the tabs to mount the fender is located in different locations. That also meant that the front fenders were not interchangeable. I would check with ServiceHonda.com on your specific parts you plan to swap. When you select a part for your 07, they list other years it will fit.

I had converted my 05's to the newer dash of the 07's and had no problems.

ABS front fenders are different from non ABS on all years. 2006 down has the painted, weak glove box doors, 2007 up have a textured much stronger doors and latch mechanism. 2007 up has an oxygen sensor in the header pipe just before the muffler flange. Other than those all the tupperware and aluminum bits should fit.

Be aware the codes for the plastic parts will not be the same due to the color difference.
