| Does anyone else have problems, inquiries w the engine/ trans needing to be at 2300 rpm to be engaged?????? Very hard to modulate, make turns at slow speeds, the scooter is coasting unless I get it up to 2300 rpm.. Upsets the whole turn,, I have had at least 50 bikes in 40 plus yrs,, and my last ride, the reflex did not do this.. Tell me,, I am not the only one. darl |

| Let me restate what seems abnormal, from rest, engine has to be up to 2200 or 2300 rpm before the scooter moves, then it is ez to have it lurch forward. MY Reflex is so smooth, just twist the throttle and it gradually moves forward. Shouldn't the SW be smooth taking off from rest? |

I know exactly what you mean! The best advice I got was to modulate the speed with the left-hand brake, so that you can rev higher, but go slower. We discussed it on this forum, I'll find the title and put it here. Mandy |

| darl, My clutch engages at about 2200 rpms but it doesn't lurch at all. You might try deglazing the clutch by doing some WOT take offs and see if that helps. But the clutch doesn't engage on the SWing until about 2200 rpms. The Reflex I had didn't engage until about 2500-2700 rpms so I think the SWing does much better in this respect. But try deglazing your clutch and also using the brake and some throttle at the same time like emeskay mentioned. Keep us informed. _________________ Ride safe, JeffR 2007 Silver Wing (30,000 miles) 2005 Majesty 400 (sold 12,500 miles) 2004 Reflex (sold 3,500 miles) Givi Windshield, top case, vista cruise, power commander, dr pulley sliders, air hawk seat pad, (J. | Kawibiker, yes my 2008 engages at about 2300-2400 rpm's but doesn't lurch at all. After you reach that engagement rpm's it does "bite" and take off well but only if you are aggressive with the throttle. I've been able to easily creep up at a stop sign so maybe there is a clutch glaze issue. |
