| Well hello to all of you fellow riders. I have been riding bikes since I was young and enjoy it so much. I have found that the scooters are easier to ride as I have get older so I stated out with a 150cc, then a Honda Reflex 250, then on to a Yamaha Majesty. The problem with the Majesty is that is sits so tall it is hard to plant my feet especialy while backing up. Then I sat on a friends Silverwing. wow it felt like a perfect fit. A wee bit more leg room. Seat height is lower, smoother greater power. So here we are with a 2005 with 34,000 miles I purchased from the original owner. I am very satisfied with it so far.
Just one thing that annoys me is the rattle in the front plastics. I empied the glove box, felt around for any looseness as I am moving as it only does it taking off up to about 20 miles per hour. Any suggestions? Anyway I am excited for better weather and much riding this year. Thanks everyone,
Disturbed from Western WA |

| Welcome! That low speed vibration is pretty typical of S'wings, as I understand it. My 2009 does it. From what I've read, it's fixable by changing to lighter sliders/rollers in the varistor. There's other advantages and benefits to that change as well. I plan to switch to 26 gm Dr Pulley sliders when it's time to change my drive belt. Short term fix? Accelerate a little harder. |

| Welcome! Mine has a rattle at low speeds, too, and I find it very annoying. I have tried tightening things down, and emptying out both glove boxes, and my bro zip tied all the wires, etc. in the dash.
I think mine might be the windscreen (I have the old-style tall fixed Givi). Or maybe I am just using that as an excuse to get the new (and improved!!!!) Givi adjustable air flow screen. |
