SPORT BIKE EXHAUST

I'm looking to add sportbike exhaust to my silverwing. Purely for the look and the sound. I'm curious as to has anyone else done this and if so what route did they take. I'm not interested in Leo vance muffler or anything else made to keep it quiet. I'm in a motorcyle club and I hand out with bikers. I want this thing to have a bikish look and sound.

You'll still riding a maxi scooter whatever exhaust you decide to stick on it, and you won't be fooling anyone. A good way of achieving this bikish look and sound you want is to buy a motorcycle.

you are missing my point. My aim is to be doing something DIFFERENT. plus i love the ease and simplicity of twist and go riding. no cluch. just go.

A loud scooter is DIFFERENT? Why buy a Silver Wing when you can ride a twist and go motorcycle like the Aprilia Mana 850 or 850 GT. Or if you want to be really different on a twist and go motorcycle, a Honda DN-01. I'd have one myself, but at 95 I can't swing my leg over the seat any more.

I had one made for my 08 that has the 02 sensor hole in it.
It has snap, crackle and pop to it and it bolts up like the original.
I painted it hi temp black and to tell you the truth, I think the bike excel-orated much faster, although that might be my imagination.
After about 1 week I removed it because when I drove up next to cars I noticed the windows closing.
It is only half the weight of the original but a bit to much for me.
I would be willing to sell it for $ 85.00 plus what ever shipping is involved.

My 2010 Aprilia Mana 850 GT would be everything your looking for without doing anything to it. I kept my Silverwing and still ride them both but if you want to fit in a motorcycle club they buy one like mine that is twist n go sport touring bike.

The Silverwing is never gonna look like or fool anyone into thinking your on a sport bike, but the Aprilia Mana will because you would be riding one! I promise you'll love the bike.

I.m.h.o. any engine with a CVT sounds absolutely CRAP with a 'sports' eshaust, just because you can NOT control the rpm by shifting. The louder the pipe, the more it will sound like you' re riding a bike with a slipping clutch...

So so not true on my Aprilia Mana, it shifts through 7 preset points on the variator and sounds / feels like a real bike when its shifting. If you shift it yourself then it sounds even sweeter!

When it has got 7 'preset points' in my h.o. it is not a continuously variable transmission...

When it has got 7 'preset points' in my h.o. it is not a continuously variable transmission...

It is, just made to mimic the behavior of a traditional auto and allow for fake manual shifting. Run it in touring mode and it acts like a CVT. Strange machine really, but I like it.

honestly im on a budget. there are ALOT of things id buy if i had the cash. the DN-01 is sure as hell one of them. I've never sat on the aprilla but from the looks of it i dont THINK its big enough for me. I'm 6'4 400lbs well built but chubby. the silverwing fits me pretty good. though admittedly the Burgman 650 will be my next step up for more comfort. I'm basicly enjoying the silverwing and costomizing it to be diff. also lets not mention its a '04 wit 25,000 miles on it that i only payed $1000 for. I've done a complete overhaul on it. Custom Paint, New tires, plugs, belt, oil & filter, coolant filter, added neon lights. grand total including purchase of bike, parts & labor $2200. thats a hell of a steal when u look at it. I JUST got i back today and had 2 people try to buy it.

once again its not about FOOLING anyone. i have BEYOND proven myself as a competent rider and hell of a leader if i must say to even be accepted in the motorcycle comunity HERE on a scooter. i cant speak for other places, but HERE scooters get NO respect. trust I ride mine when most MOTORCYCISTs are running for they car/truck with its nice comfy heat and a/c

I recently saw an apprillia on craigslist at a good price. may go sit on it and see how it fits me. The only DN-01 i have ever seen here was GROSSLY overpriced.

How is a 'sports exhaust' going to get scooter riders 'respect'?

Surely proving you are a safe and responsible rider is better for kudos rather than trying to appease folk who no matter what we ride will never treat scooter riders for anything other than scooter riders!

Like I said confused.

Now if you just wanted to fit a sports exhaust because it gives you a bit of extra HP they - hey! I can understand that.

I think it has already been said, if you want recognition by the big wheelers - simply buy a Harley or Sports Bike and join there ranks.

i see im the only one here that understands what INDIVIDUALISM is. well I CHOOSE to ride my scooters to be different. being accepted and respected just comes with being me. CUSTOM means just that. CUSTOM. I'm not looking to add a sports exhaust for ANY REASON other than it will LOOK NICE. and hopefully sound better than stock. THATS IT. just like adding chrome wheels and custom paint serve no REAL purpose other than to make the owner happy. there is a honda 929 sitting right beside my Honda Silverwing, my Yamaha Majesty & my Titan 150. I "CHOOSE" to ride & customize my scooters because thats what "I" like. mabe they are prevalent where u are. but here in VA even the motorcyclists are stumped to see me ruining 100+ mph feet on my floorboards checking my facebook

I own a 2010 Aprilia Mana and can tell you that I can barely touch the ground and I am 5"11. Hard to say though for you because 6'4 might leave you a little cramped with the position of the pegs while riding.

To be honest I would have thought riding a Silver Wing alone was about as 'Individual' as you were going to get! Not as if we number in the hundreds whereas a Suzuki Bandits or GSX must number in the thousands. I bet you see more Harley D's per journey that Silver Wings?

So if you wand to be 'different' Keep it stock!!!

Even I have added a Givi Screen so cannot brag about being 'stock'

But it's your machine you do what you wish with it, my comments were towards your individuality rather than what and why you are doing it!

Im with you bud im looking for a decent end can as well for mine, I also have a multitude of bikes which I can post pics of them all outside my garage to prove there not just nicked off the net !! ive got a full custom turbo Hayabusa with 300 rear tyre on big chrome rims spent a fortune on it, A 2012 KTM 990 Adventure, 2005,1150GS adventure SE, and a 2005 KLE 500 all bought for there own purposes all of them have had loads of money spent on them making them individual to the others, so why not do it to the scoot !!

The exhaust I have is an Arrow. Much neater than the stock exhaust. Have a look at the two Pannier pictures in my album. Not the best pictures in the world but should give you some idea of what it looks like.
