Achievement !

Today I fitted the Givi Airflow screen to my SWing. I had read all the posts on the forum and so I had no difficulty with the actual fitting. I removed the large black trim under the screen so that I could see where I was aiming the drill, No Problem.
The only snag was removing the plastic 'poppers' that held the bottom of the trim, I almost destroyed them in the process, they appear to be single use. I did replace Honda San's large headed plated screw with the small black Givi one to hold the metal strip but I'm not sure why it's necessary to do this.
No chance of a test ride yet as it looks as if winter is beginning to put in an appearance round here and the gritters have been out once this week.
Just as well that we are off to New Zealand to visit our daughter for Christmas, the weather should be warmer there !!!

The secret of the 'poppers' as you call them is to obtain a service manual. It tells you the secret of these sneaky little devices. Bloody cunning is Mr Honda!!

Hey! I did the same thing yesterday, no problems! I took it for a short ride and it did seem to have a little more wind noise at 30mph. Other than that i love it.

Not to steal Waspie's post but what is the best thing to clean it with?
Some where I thought I read not to wse windex?

I use Plexus to clean plastics but I suspect that Mr Sheen would be as good and easier to obtain.
Re the poppers, I shall have to get some spare ones, I couldn't figure them out even when I had them in my hand and I would love workshop manual but the last time I enquired it would have cost ~$200 posted !!!

For 2-3 years now I've used a product made by Eagle 1, called "Wax as U Dry".....comes in a spray bottle and can be used on plexiglass, glass, black plastic, body plastics, everything but your seat. About $5, often on sale at Auto Zone, Advance, O'reillys, Walmart. Spray, wipe a time or two and your'e done. Smells good too!

Began using it on my Smart car whose flat front end was a real bug catcher, and being yellow, everything showed. Squirted that sucker down everytime I drove.

Same. No new fangled chemicals, just soap - water and a wee bit of elbow grease to remove the stubborn bugs.

In the right pocket of my wing i carry a cloth, that i have soaked in soapy water and rung out so it is still damp, in a plastic bag. I also carry a dry microfibre cleaning cloth.When i get were i'm going one of the first things i do is clean my screen, and visor if needed.

To clean my windscreen when bugies are bad a warm wet towl,let sit a few minutes then clean with paper towl ,windex work well to.I cary a small bottle
and paper towl when riding.After washing my scoot ,whith a damp cloth I
put a dab of turtle wax I spred it thin let dry ,polish,last a very long time.
After every trip I dust it off and im redy to go

Windex will cloud the plastic windshild, and thing with Amonia in it is bad for plastic unless it has a coating on it. I use 3% Peroxide to get rid of the bugs. works for me!

They sell ammonia-free windex as well. They were selling a windex for plastic and car interiors for a while, but I can't find it anymore.

Clean it...then wax it,works great.
