| Any thing that is not slick. Armor All is a definite no-no, my guess is go to an auto parts store, ask the manager what they recommend.

I've never used anything on my seat except Armor All. What's the no no about A-A?

First time you brake seriously you will slide straight off your seat if A-A'd. You need something that will NOT polish your seat.

It's just one of these old wives tales about giving the seat a non-static shiny coating that may make your arse slide a bit under braking, so it must be dangerous. It's up there with 'top boxes ruin handling' and 'polishing your helmet visor with a dab of washing up liquid prevents fogging'.

Lemon Pledge or the cheaper WalMart type. Works fine and is cheap. Ride it everyday and seat stays in shape.

I've been riding motorcycles for 46 years now. I've used A-A on just about every seat of the 12 bikes I've owned over that period of time. Not once during that time have I ever felt like I was slipping on the seat. While I have had to brake hard at times I've only actually crashed once and that's when I was descending a VERY steep hill in the desert of Southern California on a dirt bike (Yamaha YZ 250) and that was back in 1972. I'm pretty sure a slick seat wasn't to blame. My 09 Swing looks new and I attribute that to the fact that I wash the bike once every other week and then A-A all the plastics and seat.

thats funny as hell buffing the seat out with your butt. i tried using the lexol vinyl dressing i use for cars and it isnt terribly slick. i just let it sit a minute or two and buffed it out. i did see a write up about using pledge on it too but i didnt try that yet. thanx for all the responses i have never had to detail a motorcycle since i started doing detailing, until now ive had dirt bikes and small scooters. but i do find myself cleaning this swing much more especialy the windscreen.
