PostSubject: Fuel delivery system problem   Wed Feb 08, 2012 2:49 pm

I have a 2008 Silverwing 600 and lately, a red light is showing up on my dash. My owners manual says it's related to the fuel delivery system. The engine will cut out for 15 - 20 seconds and then continue on. Could this be a filter problem or should I look for something else?

Also, my V belt light has come one but there's no change in the bike handling. Is replacement necessary at this time, or can I just have the belt adjusted?

Thanks!

Hi Meleddleman.
I was just in Pensacola this last Saturday. Nice place.

If the FI light is on, you need to extract the codes using the service manual.
If you don't have a service manual, you'll need professional help.diagnostic

Regarding the belt, if the light is on it means it's likely time to service (inspect) the belt. Using a micrometer, you can measure its wear and compare that to the service limits of the belt. If you don't have a micrometer or service manual, just replace the belt. If you have recently replaced the belt, then inspection of the variator may be needed as well.
