| I am absolutely sure I have seen a thread where people showed the various places they mounted their GPS and talked about the pros and cons. Tried several search combinations and can't find it. Does anyone know where that thread is, or any thread like it? Thanks! |

| For me, the best position of the navigator is at the edge of the roof above the instruments. With a homemade clamp system.
benefits:
- In the middle. - When consulting you are aware of events on the road.

| Hi eddy, Do you mean that you mounted it on the top of the dashboard? Do you have a photo? Thanks! |

| Hi eddy, The picture says it all. I appears that you simply attached a RAM ball mount to the top of the dash roof in the center. Simple. Thanks! |

I like that position as well. I have my air temperature gauge mounted there. My GPS is mounted to a RAM ball on the top of my mirror extension. It's nice and close for reading and touching. |

| I had mine at first on a handlebar mount, which was ok but in the wind. I then bought DennisB's GPS mount and really like it. It seems to work very well for me. _________________ Ride Safe,

| Hey eddy, Did you fabricate some kind of L-bracket to go on top of the dash with the RAM ball coming straight toward you? Got any photos? Thanks! |

| Craigory,
No RAM ball .... I removed the vacuum puller and the swan neck from the factory holder. Screwed two "U" like pieces on the back of the holder. (found in my box of dump/spare things)
Imagine two little open claws pointing at to front of the bike. The claws ( spring steel ) are shoved over the edge of the dashboard roof.

| Wow Eddy! That was pretty darn clever. I think that qualifies you to be a motorcycle MacGyver. Thanks for the idea! |
