| Hi Everyone, I'm a new joiner here. Been reading this forum for months already. Thinking of buying a 2003 fjs600.
Honestly, i don't know much about this scooter. But i like the physical and the fact that i need to upgrade from moped to a bigger engine. SW definitely fits my interest at the moment. Need some advise here:
1. Is 2003 similar with 2008 model, in terms of technology or specifications? 2. What's a J-Costa? (yeah..i'm so greeen..a newbie) 3. What to check before agreeing on the scooter?
FYI, i'm staying in Malaysia. and there's not many people riding SW. Majority on mopeds and superbikes/tourers etc..So parts could be aproblem here
Looking forward to your advise.

| The primary differences in silverwing years are: 1. Color...a different color for each year. 2. Dashboard. In the USA earlier years had a dash painted the color of the bike, while later years had a textured, nicer dashboard with better closing hardware on the pockets, and a little more room in them. 3. Oxygen sensor on the exhaust pipe.
J.Costa is a brand of variator that provides better performance.
What to check? Service records for oil change, belt change if over 16000 miles and other basic honda recommended service. Has the bike had any recalls, and if so has the bike had the recall campaign service. Your Honda dealer should be able to get that information for you. Honda recall campaign services should be free to you from a Honda dealer.

| Hi Dan, thanks for the advise. Was reading one of the articles..It said that we can adjust the dual rear shocks to meet your passenger's comfort. How easy to do it? |

| Welcome WingBoy. Do I assume that you are a UK member. You mention the FJS, (European model,) rather than the US variant the FSC.
As for adjust the rear shock, the tool kit provided has an adjusting tool for the shocks, that said a gloved hand can easily make the adjustment too. |

| Doug, You missed a line in his intro: "FYI, i'm staying in Malaysia. and there's not many people riding SW. Majority on mopeds and superbikes/tourers etc..So parts could be aproblem here". If I'm not real mistaken, Malaysia is not part of the UK now. |

| Haha...
Doug, it's an FJS..i guess it's UK spec then..the thing is not many ppl are riding SW here ..perhaps that's gonna make me a priviledge one to own one of these.
On the other hand, parts and supply could be a problem..i hope the SW wont give much problem. |
