This our dog, Gracie, and she rides with me except in very hot weather. I usually take the seat out and put her bed in the hack. She will wear the doggles as long as she is in the sidecar but as soon as she get out she takes them off. She does not try to jump out and if she did she is secured so she cannot but has enough room to move around. When my wife is with me sometimes we take her and she sits in Linda's lap.

Bill Meek, one of the Admins on BurgmanUSA has his dog Sandy (who looks very much like yours!) ride on the back seat of his Burgman 400 everywhere he goes. Amazingly, she's never fallen off.

Could you explain a little more ... the question of how to transport my pet always comes up.

I have to share this picture. I think it is amazing. I think we'd all love to have our pets enjoy the ride with us. I'll say up front though, that Bounder and Gracie are doing it in a way that is a lot safer for the majority of us contemplating bring our pets along. I think Bill and Sandy didn't get to this over night.

Anyway, this is a picture taken by Killboy on the Tail of the Dragon on Sandy's webpage. http://sandythedog.com/gallery/main.php

As my boy, Baldur, is a bit bigger than these pups he rides in a larger sidecar when we ride together. I've seen pictures of a Velorex on a Silverwing before but it looks ungainly and besides, I like it sans sidecar anyway. So Baldur rides in the Velorex attached to my BMW R100/7.

When I put the sidecar on the wing I just asked Gracie to get in and she did. She goes with me every where in the car so I guess she wanted to go on he bike. She knows when I am getting ready to leave and just waits by the door. One of the reasons I considered a sidecar was to be able to take her. In past years I have ridden the dragon many times on my Gold Wing and I cannot imagine how the dog stays on the Burggman. I think you can buy pet carriers that attached to the back seat but I could be wrong. Try the old standby "Google" and see what comes up. It is a lot of fun to be able to take your pet along for the ride.

For me----dog solution is small dog---hole cut in GIVI box and a couple of extra vent holes. Dog is safe cannot get out and rides in peace with no distractions to rider.

Moose my dog of 11 years has done all of Europe/Canada/ Central America and Mexico/Baja/Korea.

Prior to Moose @ 8 lbs, had 2 Jack Rusells that rode same way. Moose also has bag I had made in Korea, that fits in well--there I can see him and he is probably warmer in winter---Velcro secures bag to scooter

Thank you. It is pretty cool to be able to get the pets on rides like that. The sidecar idea seems pretty safe too I guess maybe close to being in a car.

I had a simple lap only seatbelt installed in my sidecar, and I bought the Guardian dog seatbelt that attaches directly to the seatbelt snap itself rather than going through the seatbelt like most others. I find this to be safer. It comes with a harness but since Baldur is already in his service dog vest I just attach the snap-in strap to that.

That is what I have done. As you I tried both and like the belt sapping into the seat belt receiver. I use a reguar harness.

I was browsing Küryakyn today and I stumbled upon this. I think folks with small pets might appreciate knowing about it.
