| Read an MCN article (Dr Flash Gordon's column) a few months back about the problems with skin graphs on the hands & fingers after someone looses the skin from roadrash. Bottom line wasn't pretty, and he recommended good gloves to protect the hands so skin graphs are less likely to be needed. He said his personal gloves are kangaroo skin because kangaroo skin is 5-times tougher than cow hide. I didn't know that. Well, that made me start thinking about getting these type of gloves, so I've come to you for your recommendation. My hands are very large, around 11" when measured the standard way, so I looking for XXL or XXXL. Want summer weight & winter weight. Anyone have some they could give me a thumbs up on? Thanks, Mark |

| Roo leathers are the choice of many racing riders. Unfortunately the conservationists in some countries outside of OZ dont like them and have caused problems not too long ago. These wackers dont realise that the roos are like rabbits over here, and need culling. (theres millions of em) As stated they have about 2-5 times the abrasion resistance to cowhide and are available readily out of SE Asia eg Singapore, Bali, etc. You may need to check US customs to see if they are not a banned import, even though they are not a protected species here in OZ. I have a pair of roo skin work boots which seem to take a beating well. |

| Here is a web page regarding Kangaroo skin gloves. I don't know if I could fork out $120 for a pair, though. http://www.webbikeworld.com/Reviewed-motorcycle-products/teknic/ |

| Mark,
Thanks for the heads up this, I did not know that kangaroo leather is a more durable leather.
Cabellas offers two that are decently priced.
Roper gloves - http://www.cabelas.com/prod-1/0027733950616a.shtml - $29.95
Shooting gloves - http://www.cabelas.com/prod-1/0005368921020a.shtml - $49.99
The roper gloves may fit your summer need, the shooting gloves are insulated with Thinsulate. Not a heavy insulation, but may fit the winter need. |

| I tried some roo gloves, but let me tell you they were mighty dangerous... my hands kept springing off the handle bars! |
