It was a trade in at a local shop. I thought it was brand new. The older gentalmen who traded it in for a bergman really took good care of it. Under 11,000 miles and in near cherry condition. I paid 3,100 for it.

I was tired of the Chinese silver wing copy I have breaking down all the time. Two to three times a summer and won't start in the cold.

I am here seeking info on Maintenance, I know I will find this in the owners manuel but I find photos and videos do a much better job.

Can anyone point to a tutorial on changing the oil? It's my first order of business before I take it out on anything but the get a feel for the new bike rides I've gone on.

Mike

Hello and welcome!

Pictorials? Look on the Home Page and scroll down to the section labelled
"Pictorials" - How To Perform Maintenance.

Easy, innit.

Welcome Mike... you have just purchased a fine machine. The 03 is my favorite color Silverwing. You will find all kinds of help here. Do as Mike suggests, read the tutorials and ask questions about anything you need help with. This is a friendly bunch that really get a kick out of helping new riders get familiar with the Silverwing.
I look forward to hearing from you in the future.

applause welcome Howdy Mike. Most of us just want to jump on and ride (isn't that what they're for), but take some time to peruse the forum and maintenance section. There are some really good hints from people who have been there and done that and saved the rest of us a lot of headaches. Enjoy the ride. motorcycle
