PostSubject: Another UK Noob   Sat Apr 04, 2009 2:25 am

Hi all, I'm Bob, 55 years old and live in Wiltshire UK. Originally from the beautiful County of Cornwall, most southerly point of UK, the bit that sticks out into the Atlantic.

I bought my SWing yesterday but don't collect it until April 14th. It's an 07 with 7500 miles on the clock. Silver is the colour and there is superficial cosmetic damage to a few panels. It looks as if the bike has fallen off its stand. I'll sort it out as and when.

My recent scoots have been Honda Dylan 125cc December 2003 - September 2004 then a Piaggio X9 250sl until September 2005 when I bought my Burgman AN400.

I'm also a member of the Muppets forum amongst others.

Welcome Bob to the forum :D I just traded my Honda Helix for a Silverwing about three weeks ago and am enjoying it more and more. There is always an adjustment period when you change bikes. I bet you have some beautiful area to ride over there.

Thanks fellas, England is a beautiful place but not on such a grand scale as the US and other large land masses.

I've ridden a Silverwing before, a friend had one and we traded bikes for 20 miles or so. That was over a year ago and that's when I fell in love with the bike.

Hi John, thanks for the welcome.

One of my main reasons for a more powerful scooter is the ride to Cornwall and back. My 400 Burgman does it but I get the feeling that the throttle is wide open all the time and it's tiring just feeling the bike screaming all the time. I'm hoping the SWing will have a more leisurely feel cruising at 70. swing

I have had mine for a week now and its sits a 80 nicely so looking foward to my annual trip down to cornwall(if poss),this will be the first time ive done it on a scoot always had naked bikes and end up with longer arms by the time i get back .
2 of the guys i go with did it on s wings 2 years ago and 650 burgers last year and must say after 4 hours of riding they looked in much better condition than me and the others on sport bikes so anticipating walking of my bike rather than falling off lol

enjoy your ride

I usually take the A303 and A30 with a break at a burger van just outside of Monkton as it's good fare and you don't feel as if you've been robbed. Monkton is about half way for me.
