Do you have any more information or details??
I was already planning on taking May 1st to ride the Texas Hill Country Three (Twisted) Sisters with a bunch of scooters ( http://burgmanusa.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=37688 ). If take off four more days I could visit Big Bend National Park .
The route from Big Bend area to Kerrville, Texas would be scenic per ride reports Big Bend to Kerrville, Tx_________________ Bill - Georgetown TX 07 Silver Wing ABS Clearview w/vent, Givi E96/TB19/E52 with Admore Lighting, Alaskan Leather, Wrist Rests, 3M Solas tape, K&N air, Hyperpro spring, Grip Puppies, Airhawk, Utopia backrest, Stebel, Apexcone HIDs, StingerZ LEDs (w/Backoff WigWag), Knight Rider Sequential LED, NGK Iridium, Power Commander III, Manic Salamander, Saeng mirrors, Garmin Zumo 660, Dark-Side Sumitomo Tire |

| Bill,
I'd love to, but sadly that is a three day ride from Huntsville, and I have only 40 hours of vacation time this year due to a job change (my choice). So I just don't have enough time to come along with you guys this year. I'm bookmarking the route though so may try it some time in the future. |

| Since Texas is such a small state...why don't you just meet in the middle and take a day ride around it. :ROTF: _________________ Ride safe, JeffR 2007 Silver Wing (30,000 miles) 2005 Majesty 400 (sold 12,500 miles) 2004 Reflex (sold 3,500 miles) Givi Windshield, top case, vista cruise, power commander, dr pulley sliders, air hawk seat pad, (J. | Hi scooterexpress on May 1st I am going from Pensacola, FL. to Pasadena, CA. but I am taking my time and making lots of stops. I plan to stop at The Amistad dam as well as Sanderson Ft. Stockton and Van Horn. The Madden display in Van Horn is really interesting! I assume that you are going through San Antonio on this trip. I have already been on the road for 2 months I have been from San Antonio down to Daytona Bike Week and then on to Miami. I have already had 2 bike failures and I carry a trunk full of spare Silver Wing parts. |

It would take 3,417 miles to ride around the perimeter of Texas ... I think that would be more than "a day" :ROTF:_________________ Bill - Georgetown TX 07 Silver Wing ABS Clearview w/vent, Givi E96/TB19/E52 with Admore Lighting, Alaskan Leather, Wrist Rests, 3M Solas tape, K&N air, Hyperpro spring, Grip Puppies, Airhawk, Utopia backrest, Stebel, Apexcone HIDs, StingerZ LEDs (w/Backoff WigWag), Knight Rider Sequential LED, NGK Iridium, Power Commander III, Manic Salamander, Saeng mirrors, Garmin Zumo 660, Dark-Side Sumitomo Tire |

| Hi Pete, I would be interested in knowing what parts on your Silverwing failed. Was it the tires or other mechanical parts? DennisB |

| Bill, Is Texas that big? I know it is huge but I didn't think it was that big. That would be a vacation ride in itself. Pete, I'm curious to know what parts are failing on you too !!! I have 22,000 miles and I haven't had one thing fail on me. How many miles do you have on your SWing? _________________ Ride safe, JeffR 2007 Silver Wing (30,000 miles) 2005 Majesty 400 (sold 12,500 miles) 2004 Reflex (sold 3,500 miles) Givi Windshield, top case, vista cruise, power commander, dr pulley sliders, air hawk seat pad, (J. | Hi Jeff R nothing really failed the only real factor here is my stupidity! Everytime I'm working on a Silver Wing I don't know what I'm doing anymore than the man on the moon! I have already been on the road for two months. On the way down to Daytona Bike Week I stopped in Pensacola and changed the hoses around oil cooler but when I did air got into the hoses and radiator. When I turned on the Silver Wing the gauges went haywire so I panicked and called a tow trucK and went straight to the Honda dealer. Next after Daytona Bike Week I ignored the yellow (V) light which of course was on and I was cool tooling down Krome Avenue in Miami (The RIM Road of Miami-kind of like Great Highway in San Francisco) and I heard this horrible banging noise and realized it must be the drive belt. Krome Avenue is 10 miles from the nearest gas station. I took the three covers off on the side of the road and checked everything then I called a tow truck. As you can see the only real factor is my stupidity. When it comes to your Silver Wing don't be stupid! |

| You are going to love Big Bend, it is AWESOME! I worked in West Texas for a couple of years in the mid 1980's and visited the park several times. You are going at a great time - the Blue Bonnets should still be in bloom. There was a really cool restaurant near Terlingua called La Kiva that had good food and great margaritas. Plus there were a bunch of old mine dumps near there where you could find all sorts of minerals (Cinnabar, calcite, fluorispar). There is a National Forest Service lodge in the Chisos Mountains that you can stay in within the park and a lot of very nice day trips to places like Santa Elena Canyon, Lajitas (there is a resort here), Alpine (a cool little college town), Fort Davis a cool historic site, and the MacDonald Observatory. Have fun! |

| Hey guys by the time you get to the I-10 exit for MacDonald Observatory on a Honda Silver Wing you're going to be so tired that you're not going to care anymore! The Observatory is not on I-10 it is about 35 miles south dowbn a 2-lane road. |
