| Hi folks - seen this on here before, but want to double check. I do alot of start / stop riding in traffic, and when warmed up (2 miles) I'm getting this screech/whine from back wheel area when accelerating from standstill. After 5-10m it's goes. On longer journeys (few start/ stops), no noise at all.
Presume (as in previous threads) it's belt noise, but not exactly sure how to remedy? Any previous experiences (particularly those that were resolved!) most appreciated. Cheers.

| In my experience the quickest way to eliminate the noise from behind me is to tell the passenger to stop screaming. Just joking around. Sorry I can't help with your question. | Welcome to the Forum, Squasher. It seems you have a case of the common clutch squeal. Although it's embarrassing to have a noise come from your bike and other folks at a stop light look over at you , there's usually no mechanical harm. Look at this thread for how to mitigate it: http://www.silverwing600.com/t884-advice-on-squeal?highlight=squeal |
