Yes, sorry I haven't been around for a bit folks - been very busy doing 'stuff' and now I have some enforced time on my hands having been hit by a 'Rep' who wasn't paying attention to where he was going; combine that with him looking at the wrong set of lights exiting a round-a-bout and it all adds up to a recipe for disaster....
I got side swiped despite my best efforts to avoid a collision, the bike took the brunt of the force and was slewed sideways. The impact was right on the pillion peg mounting and it was that drove the wing of the car in and ripped the plastic bumper cover - oh it also knocked the side light etc. out - Dam good job Sally wasn't on the back or she'd have a broken ankle/leg now! The bike sustained damage mainly to the exhaust cover - I on the other hand have a twisted spine and a very stiff neck...
Seems I come off worse even when I manage to keep the bike upright!
I was sooo Angry, I very nearly ripped the door off the car to get the dozy swine out! His first words; 'Sorry mate, but I really didn't see you', followed instantiously by 'it was my fault, it was definatley you right of way'...... I was very much poised to punch him when I realised that there was a double decker bus right behind us - full of passengers all watching me!
We called the police, and sat on the curb of the round-a-bout chatting...... No point in getting more lary with him - he'd stuck his hand up straight away. After 35 minutes and a no show by the old bill, we decided to sort it out our selves

They are still to respond to my query about their lack of response to an accident and that was a week ago........
So here I am, waiting for an insurance claim to crawl through the system, with a back making it painful to sit on a bike - and its been the best week of the year so far for riding - isn't life a bitch sometimes???
Oh well, theres always painkillers and gritting one's teeth to ensure I enjoy myself
