| Well, I just picked up a 2002 Swing, in black with the Givi Maxi Monokey truck and Givi Windshield and only 11,700 miles.
Paid $2,300, but needs a fuel pressure regulator, already ordered for $45. Runs great, but have to bypass the regulator.
Was this a good deal, or just average?
Adding this to my two wheel stable. 2000 RC51, 1994 CBR600F2 and 2009 KX250.Not even mentioning the bicycles!
Any way to change the variator to increase high speed fuel economy? Most of the mods I've seen improve performance, but if I understand the variator correctly, I would need a bigger pulley to actually increase high speed efficiency. I have plenty of toys to go fast with :-)

1) Dr Pulley Sliders helped to reduced by 400-500 RPMs
2) Power Commander with Custom map for higher MPH. When I had my done, he said there was room for lots of improvement at the higher speeds.
3) Larger rear tire could also lower RPMs.

| Welcome to the forum - enjoy the ride.
Really, really high speed is problematic for the drive system. This type of drive system is inefficient and with the amount of power the SilverWing puts out, really high speed nets poor economy.
Bill makes some good recommendations, all of which will require you to spend a bit of money. My wife and I rode our (stock) SilverWings this past Saturday on a 180 mile jaunt and I was very hard on the throttle - net fuel efficiency result for the day 54.372 mpg. Not exactly wow, but the company was great and the day was amazing. I'll accept 54 mpg with the only cost - a tank of gas. |
