| Hey Everyone, How's the weather where you are? We are in the middle of a historic blizzard here in Chicago. They are comparing it to the one we had in January 1967. We can get up to 24 inches or more near the lake. Not supposed to end till late afternoon tomorrow. Don't think we will be seeing the ground hog anytime soon. Then on Thursday, high of 8 F. Oh, how I love Chicago winters. I'll be hanging out on this forum for awhile and playing my :guitarist . But now the snow is calling for meto clean the stairs and start up the snow blower. Cathy |

| Cathy, I remember the snows when I was still living in Illinois. I lived up north of you in Antioch until I was about 11 and loved the snow. But I was just young. And then down in Champaiign we would get snow but not like the northern part. It seems when you get much south of Kankakee it isn't quite as bad. Just bundle up and wait for it to melt I guess. But believe it or not..I miss the snow. Here in the bay area of California it never snows. Maybe go buy a snowblower and then go out and make some money shoveling driveways. _________________ Ride safe, JeffR 2007 Silver Wing (30,000 miles) 2005 Majesty 400 (sold 12,500 miles) 2004 Reflex (sold 3,500 miles) Givi Windshield, top case, vista cruise, power commander, dr pulley sliders, air hawk seat pad, (J. | I am the county Red Cross DAT coordinator... they have us on stand by for SE Arkansas. I don't think it is going to do anything, but it sure is cold and we usually have house fires in this kind of weather. It was 22F just now and dropping. I am so ready for Spring.
For those of you that are having the storms (about 2/3 of US is getting some kind of weather problem) stay warm and as Jeff said, just bundle up and wait this out.
And I know you Australian friends are going to get hit again.
I am praying that things get better for all of us very soon. |

| Jeff, My snow shoveling days for money are well behind me. Where we live in the city we have alleys and garages and parallel parking on the street. Maybe you have heard of our Chicago tradition, when it snows alot people shovel there parking space on the street and then proceed to put different types of furniture and other strange items out in their space to save it, till they come back home. We figure if we shoveled it out we are intitled to the spot in front of our house. Bob and I park in our garage but our daughters have claimed there spots in the past. After a certain period of time the Mayor will announce that the time for saving parking spaces is over. Which then he announces that the items on the street will be picked up by garbage trucks so if you want to keep them you better remove them. Visitors to the city during a winter storm are always in awe of this Chicago tradition Cathy |

| Yeah, I know about saving parking spots. I have heard some good fights breaking out too at times. Good luck with all the snow and stay warm. _________________ Ride safe, JeffR 2007 Silver Wing (30,000 miles) 2005 Majesty 400 (sold 12,500 miles) 2004 Reflex (sold 3,500 miles) Givi Windshield, top case, vista cruise, power commander, dr pulley sliders, air hawk seat pad, (J. | We almost had snow here in Southern Oregon! Had a bit of cool weather but not too bad. Rode to the Tuesday Geezer breakfast this morning on the Silverwing, temp was 28F which rose to 54F by late afternoon. Haven't had a day yet this winter we can't ride. |

| We are having thunder snow with lightning, 19F, winds up to 50 mph. Hope I can get to the hospital tomorrow for work. I work more on the outpatient side which I have a gut feeling there will be no patients coming in for services. I wouldn't.

| That saving parking space thing sounds very reasonable to me. I know if I had worked to get the place cleared, it would be MINE unless someone wanted to buy it. We have the same tradition with deer stands here. The trees are full of furniture.
Papa... I think Dale is the one that has weather smell forecasts. No, wait, tht might be John G. Crusty is certainly a description most folks would understand. |

| Gary, yes we do have he polar plunge group up here. I have only one thing to say about them, they're insane Never could understand what that is all about. I should be on my way to work but my boss said stay put till she figures out if we have enough coverage for our department at the hospital. Not that I would be much help since I just started in the Lab two weeks ago. I'm still training in outpatient customer service and we don't anticipate much activity with this blizzard. Emergency services are saying we should stay off the roads if possible. I will heed there suggestions. OHare airport has had about 18-19 inches so far and it is still coming down heavy. Winds are gusting up to 55mph. Cathy |

| Papa Johns Left your area last week on Thursday. Was there (West Carrolton) for 2 1/2 weeks and went through some cold and snow then also but sounds like your really getting hit at the present. Took in the Arenacross at the Nutter Center while there and also traveled over to the Columbus area and visited the Motorcycle Hall of Fame Musuem at Pickering. Visited Iron Pony and Competition Accesories also. It seems as all of us get hit with this storm stuff at some time or another and I have had my share of missed, canceled, delayed flights to last a long time this year. Patty and I did take advantage of our weather today which was in the high 60's and fired up the old GW and rode about 100 miles then came home and took the SW out for about 10 miles to excersize both. The GW has set in the garage too long since starting so took it on the longer run. Both started right up as they set in the garage with battery tenders on them. Hope everyone is safe and this weather clears out across the country. My prayers go out to those stranded as well as those needing medical attention/food and can't get there because of these storms. Lets remember to look out for our neighbor in all of this. Take care, Dick |
