PostSubject: Hi Beam Break Out Connector   Tue Nov 30, 2010 8:05 pm

Hey All,

Hope all is well.

I finally got around to building my hi-beam break out connector.

With the hi-beam switch turned on, I can toggle between using the hi-beam and auxiliary lighting.

Now that I have the wiring figured out, I hope to chose some LED's.

See attached diagram.

Also, can someone tell me how to embed an image?

Nice job!!

Were you able to purchase that (male) 'plug into high beam connector' for the wire harness? I've seen the H7 (female) headlamp connectors at Pep Boys & Advance Auto, but have never seen that male plug available -either in an H7 or regular 2-3 wire headlamp format.

I assume that that connector is the 12V power-in point for this aux circuit.

Hey Erick

Thanks for sharing your excellent wiring diagram update and your parts source links for your Break Out Connector circuit.

It's also good to know that the whole thing is available pre-assembled from one source too ---as quite a few here on the forum don't have access to the tools to DIY.

I am making a correction on the design.

If you plan on using a switch, I would highly recommend using a relay with a diode. This will prevent reverse voltage spikes from the coil to your switch.

Here is the one I purchased.

Is anyone interested in this connector?

Let me know as I no longer need it.

I will be willing to sell at cost of parts plus shipping.
