So, for those of you who didn't read my intro, I was just about to buy a beand new 2010 GW-ABS/GPS for about $27K OTD, and I decided we would just ride the SWing that we own instead. I've had 3 GW's and sold the last one to get a SWing. I haven't been riding the poor thing much at all anyway.

But we did get a helmet for my wife yesterday. Now she has never ridden on the back of a motorcycle of any kind, but she is pretty open minded about trying it, although if it wasn't for me, riding on two wheels would probably be something she would not do.

Anyway, I pull my '07 SWing out of the garage and check the tire pressure. Start her up and let her run a bit, plus move her down to the level asphalt in front of the driveway. I put my gear on and take her for a spin around the block a couple times. By that time my wife is waiting with her new helmet, new Harley jacket & gloves, and tennis shoes for now since we haven't found her some boots yet.

I get on and give her briefing #23a - How to mount the bike and be a good passenger. She gets on, we get adjusted & we are ready to go!

Uh-oh. Battery dead. So no ride.

I was embarassed because I knew a bike that sits for a while is probably going to have a dead battery & I should have trickle-charged it because I knew at least several days ago that we were going to be riding it.

So we thought that was pretty funny. I've been saying for about a year that I was going to put her on the bike and take a nice-and-easy spin or two around the neighborhood. We FINALLY get to it and it won't start. DOH!

Ride with Pride

"Dress rehearsal"

That's what she said, and it was no big deal. I didn't jump-start it, but the battery is all charged up & it's beautiful today in the South Bay (beach area & peninsula of South Los Angeles)!

Perhaps I'll have a first ride story to post later!
