PostSubject: Hello from Iowa   Tue Oct 12, 2010 2:55 pm

I've been riding a few years now. I started with a Honda Mtro 50cc and in 07 I upgraded to the Reflex. I've made a couple of cross counrty rides and I'm not a fair weather rider I've been known to ride in 34f and light drizzle that turned to snow. I recently upgraded to the Silverwing.

Mods: Larger windshield (less wind noise), Throttle lock (comes in handy on long rides), GPS, heated grips and XM Radio.

Hey Keith........Good to meet ya.....greetings from Quincy Il.
Just had a friend ride my SW. He owns a Reflex. Said he loved the power, but didn't appreciate the heft. Prefers the Reflex. Could you comment on the "goods" and "bads" of each? If you could have only one, which would you choose? Please feel free to throw the Helix in this stew. Hey only crazy people ride in the winter. rendeer Take care, Jeff.

Keith,

Welcome to the site and congrats on your new SWing. I remember reading your road trips on the www.maxi-scoots.com site. I'm glad your surgery went well too. I had the Reflex too and thought it was very nice but just not enough power for the S.F. bay area. They drive kind of fast out here. Welcome.

Still haven't riden the first mile on my new Silverwing the dealship is still installing all the extras that I ordered on it. I have riden one of my friends Swings and it seemed great, my only reluctance in upgrading before this was my gas mileage which was from 60 up to 80 mpg. I'll let you know as soon as I can but to add insult to injury I just had surgery and won't be able to ride for over a month then we might have 5 feet of snow on the roads.

PostSubject: Re: Hello from Iowa   Sun Oct 17, 2010 4:21 pm

Well I couldn't do it. I went against my doctors advice and rode my new 2010 Swing. Luckly I didn't do any damage to myself, I really felt I could do it and did.

Now as to the difference between the Swing and Reflex is that the Swing rides snoother and is better in wind. Yes when you stop you can feel there is extra weight but of course like the difference between the weight of a 50cc and the Reflex is a jump also. Just need to get used to it. The power is a big plus.
