| Hi,
New to the forum. Been lurking a few weeks reading. Thanks to all the members who contributed information that helped me decide to go with the SilverWing. Thanks to the posts on the forums, I switched from looking at Burgman 650's to considering Silverwings.
I pick up two used SilverWings on Saturday - an '03 Red for GF and a black '05 for myself. GF has an '06 Yamaha Majesty for learning (MSF course this weekend) and will upgrade to the SilverWing when she's ready.
I curently ride/own a 2002 Kawasaki Concours. I'm not riding it much anymore since I live in the city and it's low speed maneuverability is poor given the 7.5gal of fuel up top.
As has been recommended to others, will be replacing the belts, all fluids, flushing radiator, etc and one gets new tires.
Thanks again and be talking with you.
Drew

| Drew, Welcome and hope you like the site. Post some pics when you get a change of both the SWings. Maybe even give a short write-up comparing the Swing and the Concourse. I hear they both go about the same mph. Welcome. _________________ Ride safe, JeffR 2007 Silver Wing (30,000 miles) 2005 Majesty 400 (sold 12,500 miles) 2004 Reflex (sold 3,500 miles) Givi Windshield, top case, vista cruise, power commander, dr pulley sliders, air hawk seat pad, (J. | HELLO DREW!!! Welcome to the family. And GF is welcome too. I had a GF once. Married her 35 years ago this past Monday. Still not sure it is going to work out. Buying her a Silverwing is a smart thing to do. If that doesn't impress her nothing will. That 03 is certainly a pretty color. You have a lot to contribute to the discussions here. |

| RedWing and BlackWing now part of the Family - http://gallery.me.com/chinasaur#100007 The silver scoot is Cathy's 2006 Yamaha Majesty. Once she transitions off that, we can get the garage back I put 200 miles on between both wings yesterday. No comparison. Once you get used to the different feel of the lean, the difference in power is negligable. I don't miss the heaviness of the Connie nor the extra 300cc. For what I give up (more fairing for wind and rain protection), I get back low speed maneuverability and improved usefulness. The gas mileage is about the same so that's a wash. |
