It took me a few days to post this but it still hasn't set in yet.

Saturday evening at around 8pm my son David was in a fatal motorcycle accident in Goodyear, AZ. I/We don't have anymore information than this due to the Superbowl going on and all the police were out on patrol. It was him on his Harley and a car with 4 people in it. 2 adults and 2 minors. They had minor injuries and were taken to local hospitals.

David was going to the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute and was going to graduate in April. He had a job lined up in Atlanta, GA when he got out of school but was going to come home for a bit before going to Atlanta.

I'll post any updates when I/We get them. Aren't parents supposed to go before their children? He was 52 years old.

My condolences, Dale... One of the worst things for a parent to contend with... Best thing (IMHO) is finding comfort in God... All my prayers are with you and yours, friend...

I have no words Dale. I can't even imagine how you/yours must feel right now.

All I can say is believe your son has moved on to a better place ... and cherish the memories of the times you shared together.

Thank You ALL for the prayers and good wishes. YES! I do pray a lot and I believe that he is in a better place now.

According to the Police report the car was being driven by a 21 year old daughter and she pulled out in front of David and he hit the back passenger door on the right side of the car and broke his neck. They figured he died instantly, which was good. At least no suffering for him. They said they are going to charge her with something. Time will tell.

Thank You ALL again!!!

So sorry to hear of your devastating loss, Dale.
I know it's not for everyone but I will light a candle for him and all your family this evening in church and will keep him on my 'list'.
L&H,
Mike

I lost my brother in vaguely similar 'there he was, gone' circumstances 20+ years ago.
I still miss him.

So sorry, Dale. What a terrible tragedy for certain. I have ridden in Goodyear many times (it is a suburb of Phoenix). My opinion is that there are so many distracted drivers on the road that it is seldom safe to ride on two wheels anymore, especially in bigger cities. If my health does not stop me from riding I fear the distracted drivers will.

Take care, Dale my prayers are with you!

I heard a report on the radio the other day where in AZ there's over 300 motorcycle accidents per year.
