PostSubject: for cold weather users   Wed Feb 17, 2010 2:37 pm

As you may remember I sold my BMW GS1200 for a Silverwing a few months ago. Very happy with the Honda obviously, but as I was now using it wearing regular clothes instead of the full biker kit, I was feeling the cold even in my 5 mile commute.

So I bought this:

http://scooter-wear.com/tucano-urbano-termoscud-leg-covers-for-honda-scooters-2569-0.html

Those with Vespas, or our Italian friends know them well. Gay jokes apart (been called a sissy at work because of it already!), they do work! Those of you in Northern states should check them out.... They also keep your legs dry when it rains...

Will send a piccie or two tomorrow.

I have a fear of the thing. I, probably wrongly, envisage getting my legs trapped when slowing down and wanting to lower my legs.

I did look at them but chose the standard jacket and trousers option.

Pretty gay, yes, but a heck of an idea. I'm already secure enough in my masculinity to ride a scooter, so I say "Why not?"

Nice aerodynamic aid, too, if it's done right. I bet that would make a measurable difference to fuel economy on the open road.

What does this mean?

Hear in the US the ego is a big thing to some people.
Oftentimes I have heard young kids yell things like "fagmobil' and "only gays ride scooters" etc.So could this be fuel for the fire? Who knows?
A lot of people hear do not like someone to think they may be in that group of people.
All I know is I love my Swing. And I do not care what anyone thinks.

These are cool. I have been thinking about something like this for a while.

As far as the Gay thing. My riding buddy (Harley guy) has a huge masculine issue with my wing. He keeps trying to get me to "Get a real bike". He is so afraid of it he won't even ride it. It is rather funny.

Those are not nearly as "gay" as the scooter skirts:

Sweet, If they would change the name to Scooter Kilts they may get more guys to buy in. I will stick to my ski pants. They work great.

With you on sticking to pants. The Wing offers enough natural protection.

I think it's a great idea (great idea=intelligence). And intelligence is very attractive (very attractive=not gay).

Sort of like hippo grips for the legs.

the tucano skirt rocks guys... Have it on now for a full week, great stuff... No rain or wind gets through it and legs stay toasty!

It takes a bit of getting used to as the legs as not as mobile as before and one needs to wiggle the lower leg to put down when stopped.... But it gets petty easy within half an hour...

will post some piccies tomorrow
