Base line setting throttle bodies Empty
PostSubject: Base line setting throttle bodies   Base line setting throttle bodies I_icon_minitimeTue Jun 11, 2019 3:02 am

Hi Guys,

I recently tried to synchronise the TB’s but I’m was a bit hasty and now it doesn’t run as well as I want.
On my Yamaha FJR TB number 2 is the TB to which to set the other four TB’s to.
But on the Silverwing you only have the two and I forgot to check the turns in of the balancing screws.
I there a base line setting for the screws on the TB? Like start from 2.5 turns out?
And what is the mmHg reading I should set it to?

Regards,

Martin

According to 'The Book' the No.1 and No.2 throttle vacuum difference is 20 mm Hg, the base throttle valve for synchronisation is No.1, and throttle grip free play 2 — 6mm.

Hi,

I got hold of the book but it is still vague to me.

Normally a start value is given, for my FJR1300 it is something like 220mmHG.
And then you set all the other TB’s to the same value or as close as possible.

When I read the manual it doesn’t give any value.
Also, is it correct that you don’t set the TB’s to the same value?
I don’t think that is correct, maybe it must be within 20mmHG of each other.

Can anyone tell me what the start value is for TB no.1 so I can set no.2 correctly?
Or is there a starting point, like TB no.1 screw fully in and then 2 turns out?
Ore something like that?

Cheers

Well I have lost the initial settings. After lots of attempts I end up with 2 and a half turns out and I
sync the tb's from there
