D214KIT is it needed?

I ordered a Givi 214dt windshield from Revzilla and it did not come with the D214KIT . When I called Revzilla about it they said it is discontinued and not needed any more. They did refund me the $17.50 that it lists for on the givi website, but they are not available at the normal places in the USA. EBay seller’s list them in Italy, but shipping is stupid.
When I did a search on this site for this info one side of a augment about if they were needed or not had been erased. I do not want to reopen old wounds, so feel free to PM me if you are more comfortable that way , but I need to know if what Revzilla said is true and I don’t need them or if the givi website is correct and I really do need them.

I'd get one. Needed support for larger screen. Givi made it for a reason gives it 2 more fastening points and bracket. I installed mine it's not hard to do.

There is one on Amazon $ 40 a bit pricy though.

I found a set in my shed, if you are in need.
