Introducing Myself

Good evening, everyone!  Just want to introduce myself - I just bought a 2006 Silver Wing this past Spring from a retired motorcycle cop - it barely had 2,000 miles on it & he had never done any maintenance on it at all, but it still ran like a top.  I did change the oil right when I got it, then put about 600 miles on it this summer.  I started getting hinky about riding on tires that were probably 12 years old, so I got it serviced this week: new tires & replaced all the fluids except for the oil.  The Honda dealership checked it out thoroughly but didn't find anything that needed to be fixed.

I live in the Hill Country in Texas, outside the Austin area, where we have LOTS of great roads to ride.  I really love my Silver Wing - it's much more "flickable" than the 2004 Honda Shadow Aero 750 that I used to own.

For what it's worth, I'd also change the drive belt. It may not have many miles on it but it is old and might not last all that long if you plan on riding it a lot.

I bought an 08 SWing that sat under a tarp for two years and that's one of the first things I changed. Along with tires, oil and filter, new battery etc. etc.

Welcome, this is the best site for really good Swing info....and most are very friendly. IMO, you purchased a great long lasting maxi scooter.
