Official Announcement from Dr.Pulley in Taiwan

MRP (MARTIN RACING
PERFORMANCE /1740 NW 93rd Ave/Miami, FL
33172/305-599-8993) is no longer our distributor in United States.

Moreover MRP has never been authorized by Dr.Pulley/Union Material Co.,Ltd. to
produce or counterfeit our patented ( US 7,276,004 ) sliding roller weight (ie.
SLIDER ).

The SLIDER showed in MRP’s website http://www.martinracingdealer.com/SPD/d-slider-16x13-7gr--8000177E-1252698265.jsp
is a FAKE product, and it’s already infringed our intelligent property.
MRP shall stop copying or carrying
these fake SR products right away as it has been an illegal action and shall
not be allowed in this industry.

Through the attached wear
data of genuine Dr.Pulley SR vs FAKE sliders ( ie. from RPM, KOSO etc ),you’ll
understand the materials used in these FAKE sliders are not wear-resistant
material and are too abrasive to Aluminum-made variator.

We strongly suggest our
customers to pay attention to these counterfeit products, so as to protect your
right of purchasing genuine Dr.Pulley products.

Ok Dr Pulley Service, how do we confirm that we have genuine DR Pulley sliders? The one pictured in the attachment appears orange in color. Looks like I will be doing an inspection this weekend.

I have tremendous respect for a company that notifies potential users about a counterfeiting problem.

Happy to have been informed of this problem by a respected scooter after-market parts supplier.

The tribological properties (low friction coefficient, high wear-resistant & Aluminum-compatible etc ) is very important.

We do want to protect our intelligent
property but we’re more concerned about all users’s right to choose the genuine parts to avoid any harm from FAKE sliders’s poor quality.

The material used for Dr.Pulley’s slider SR1814 is a proprietary self-lubricated composites ( SL-9T
series ), it’s Aluminum compatible so the Aluminum-made variator will almost not be worn by Dr.Pulley’s SR. Moreover the friction coefficient of SL-9T series is
extremely low so the friction heat buildup is very low. (Dr.Pulley SR’s friction heat buildup will be only 38℃ after 128,000 cycles of reciprocation test )
But the material used in FAKE slider is very abrasive that means the Aluminum-made
variator will be worn very seriously by the fake slider and the friction coefficient of FAKE slider’s material is
extremely high so the friction heat buildup is very quick and high.( Fake slider’s friction heat buildup will be quick and high such as 53℃ after 43,000 cycles of reciprocation test for RPM’s fake slider or 53℃ already after 11,000 cycles of reciprocation
test for KOSO’s fake slider )
