PostSubject: Hello from the UK   Hello from the UK I_icon_minitimeThu Apr 06, 2017 11:47 am

I bought my first Silver Wing last summer and have already done over 6,000 miles on it commuting into London every day on a 41 mile round trip for which this scoot is ideal, cutting through congestion.

So far I've needed to replace the small 'U' shaped coolant pipe which connect's onto the oil cooler, otherwise it's been reliable.

Modifications done so far include fitting a couple of LED running lights to improve visibility to others, Oxford heated grips, a Honda top box and replacing the fixed Givi screen for the adjustable one as I found the fixed one quite dangerous in the wet/dark obstructing vision, then on hot summer days it restricted airflow onto me which meant I got hotter than necessary. The adjustable screen works a treat, very little difference in wind disturbance with the option to increase airflow as desired.

Earlier this week I replaced the belt and fitted Dr Pulley 26g rollers and sliders, the new belt has stopped some squealing when pulling away and the new rollers have added a degree of extra pep to the performance.

The bike came fitted with the leg wind deflectors and a TOMTOM sat nav.

So far I've also carried out a full service and will continue do all maintenance myself, looking forward to being able to contribute on the practical/maintenance side of things for the forum.

Welcome Javel. This is a great site!! I've learned a lot and done my own maintenance on my 08 SWing. Lots of people here with a heck of a lot more knowledge about SWings than I have and I've used that knowledge for my own repairs.
