| A bit different than riding a bike, main thing to get used to is not using knees to bank over,as no tank, you do need to turn the bars more especially at slow speeds. The more you ride the sooner you adapt. Once you get your confidence, you won't want to go back to a bike. Welcome and enjoy the ride |

| Hi Maurice and welcome to the farm forum. I'm from the N.W. of England.
One of the dangers when going from a manual bike to a Silverwing is trying to pull the clutch in to change up to 2nd. gear after moving off. You'll have ABS, so you're less likely to drop it.
Conversely, I was riding my Pan European the other day and, entering a bend with engine deceleration, I decided to give it a touch of rear brake to knock a touch of speed off. I absent-mindedly pulled in the clutch.
Both these actions focus the mind pretty damn quick! |

| Hello from sunny Salisbury! There's no tank to press on but pressing with the correct foot when riding feet-forward has an effect on the steering. |

| Hi from the US Maurice! I've never noticed very much difference switching from one of my MCs to the SW or other maxis I've had. The main thing as already mentioned is to watch out you don't lock up the rear brake. I always kept in mind the admonition a boxer is given, "lead with your left". It didn't work for me in school, I was left handed, but it is a nice mnemonic help remind one in using the brakes. You have a great little bike there I hope you enjoy it as much as the rest of us. Some call it a maxi some call it a 'geezer glider' but it's fun to ride. |

| Hi Flymo and welcome from just across the Thames. Nice place Whitstable, I'm about fifteen miles from you as the crow flies but it's about 5 times that by road!
You'll soon get used to the Silverwing and I'm sure you're going to enjoy it.
