PostSubject: Observation on cooling   Observation on cooling I_icon_minitimeThu Sep 01, 2016 1:37 pm

Good day all, earlier this year I fitted a home made mudflap on the Swing as I found the rad gets a pasting from road dirt. I have since noticed the cooling fan comes on much sooner and stays on longer. The temperature never goes beyond three bars though so I'm not concerned - just an observation to add to the knowledge base!

My temperature guage has never gone above 3 either, but the fan still comes on in traffic.
Not worried though, they seem tough bikes these!

The weather has been pretty warm lately. It's not just a case of the warmer weather coinciding with you fitting the mud flap is it?

I can't say I noticed any difference in the amount that my fan switched on when I fitted my mud flap but I have noticed it coming on quite a lot more in the recent warm weather.

I've never had the temperature gauge go above three bars either.

Same here, pull into the garage on a hot day and idle a minuet or two will trigger mine.
