I've just sealed the purchase of a three-year-old black Silverwing with less than 2500 miles on the clock.
It has a full service history, just been MOT'd and serviced and has almost all the best extras fitted: Givi adjustable screen, DenisB GPS mount, Givi E52 top box.
The only thing it lacks is leg/wind deflectors but I shall have some fitted as soon as I take delivery.

I also have a buyer for mine. He's in no hurry to take it off my hands so I'll have time to remove one or two of my mods: driving lights on DenisB bracket, tunnel-bag 'hook' and my Givi box and plate - I will replace it with the Honda box the bike came with.
The Fehlings chrome rear bars are already going rusty on mine so I'll get them re-chromed with decent plate (as a friend did with his) or possibly have them powder-coated. Not sure what colour to have them if I do, though.

I plan to have the new one thoroughly weatherproofed (Waxol or similar) as soon as possible.

I'm excited! chickendance

Woo hoo!! Congratulations

What is it that are you having weatherproofed?

It may sound garish, but yellow Fehlings would be a nice contrast to the black tupperware.

Thanks, Tim!

As my Silverwing lives outdoors it's got a bit shabby.

I intend getting a professional bike cleaner/detailer to treat the whole bike so it's better protected. I have been recommended such a man so I'll contact him soon.

Thanks, too, for the thought about a colour; I am always in favour of having something which is clearly visible and there are plenty of shades of each colour.

Mike,

Congrats on your new SWing. That is pretty cool a SWing that is only 3 years old and 2500 miles. I bet you are pretty excited with this new one. Take a pic sometime of it if you get a chance.

Thanks, Jeff.

Yes, I am very excited in a calm way, knowing I have lots of time for rearranging things and not the usual swapping on the spot so forgetting things that should be done.

It's Colin B's Silverwing. People will know he's a close friend of mine and has been a 'good' friend, supporting and helping me, particularly during the years since I had to move back to the UK.

He retired (although still does a few sessions in the studio when asked) and his Pattern of Life has changed naturally.
I'm sure he won't mind my saying that he took up Bowls and has become rather good at it and has more recently become involved in a Swan Rescue Centre - both Bowls Club and Rescue Centre are close to the Thames in Windsor where Colin lives. One of his neighbours is Her Majesty!
He's drifted away from long trips on the Silverwing, hence the very low mileage, and has decided a smaller (125 perhaps) will be of more benefit, an easy way to transport him locally.
Of course, he and his wife are out and about together in the car now he's got more free time.

I'm very fortunate in having such good friends both here in cyberspace and in the Real World.

Nice one Mike. That sounds like an excellent buy.

You're right, good friends are pretty rare but worth their weight in gold!

Enjoy the bike.

Thanks, Cookie.

The new Siverwing arrived at 12.00 almost on the dot.

It's in showroom condition with the mere 2300 miles on the clock.

Colin parked it 'round the back' of the flats so it is secure for the time being.

It's booked in for tomorrow to have the valve sorted.

It was a great pleasure seeing Colin again; it must be more than two years ago that we last met.
We had lunch at Britford Farm Shop before driving to Salisbury Station so he could catch a train home.

I've transferred the cash via the bank so it may arrive chez him before he gets home.

I shan't rush the transfer of gadgets - the rechroming of the bars will take time.
I may leave that until after Whitby and use the Stone Lion for that weekend.

I have a feeling there's a bit of a misunderstanding: my blue Silverwing is still sitting outside my flat - I've owned it for just over three years having bought it when it was about three years old.

Recently, I decided to buy a brand new one (probably my last) while there were still some in the dealerships, trading in the one I have.
However, my good friend Colin, a member here although no longer visiting, decided he wasn't riding his nearly enough and offered me his three-year-old, hardly run-in black Silverwing at a good price.

We did a deal and he rode it down to me yesterday.

Thus I currently have two. The black one is presently in the repair shop having a new valve fitted in the front wheel.

I have a buyer, a scootering/motorcycling friend, for the blue one; he is in no hurry to take it away so I have time to swap a few bits over.

My membership of this wonderful forum remains unbroken since 2009. Smile

The Silverwing in my album was identical apart from backrest and windscreen to my current blue one.

Congrats on the new steed Mike! Last year of manufacture imported to Canada was 2009 and that's what I still have with only 14,000kms. If you want a newer maxi here here you have to go to a BMW, Yamaha, Suzuki or Kymco.

Thanks!

I think Honda must have quite a few in store and are releasing them gradually.
I don't know when they were last manufactured.
Yours is certainly low-mileage; I don't ride as extensively as I did, certainly very few long trips but plenty of an hour or so - 30 to 50 miles.

Heck, you can still order "new" 2013's direct from the factory through a dealer here in the US. Factory price is $7499 plus the usual additional fees.
