Today, a friend and I took the wheels off my silverwing and took them to have new tyres fitted. The job took us about four hours in total and that includes driving the wheels and new tyres to my local bike shop. The mechanic at the shop told me yesterday that if I brought the stuff down late in the morning he'd do the job. In fact we waited over 15 minutes before he told me that he couldn't do the job until later and asked me to leave my telephone number. Well my pal couldn't wait around all day so we took the tyres to a local tyre fitter who did the job within minutes of us arriving.

My big thanks goes to my friend who doesn't use this forum and rides a Triumph Bonneville and also to the guys on here who provided links and or advice on how to remove the wheels. This is a job that I'd normally entrust to a mechanic but I'm determined to do more stuff like this myself and save a small fortune.

Thanks all. Bob
