Have not taken time to introduce myself. Normally located in Alliston Ontario, home of Honda.  
Have a 2006 600 w abs. About 20k miles. No issues. Have owned a razz since 85, R1100 for many yrs, also a ruckus. Use only in Summer months.
Honda bikes and motors are bulletproof. 30 yrs on Jazz any only added gas and oil. Silver wing, new tires and belt! That's it, and a battery.

Tripped across forum and thought I would join the crowd. I am over 70. I went with sw just because of comfort and satisfies my needs. Great on the highway.

Just not into the HD mocho thing. Actually first bike was an Indian with optional wire cutters ;-). Had a HD scooter in 65 just before they went under (in Detroit). Didn't last long before buying a Suzuki 50cc for 1/3 the price.

I do all my own maintenance on all my toys. Easy to do with a few tools. I can still buy parts for the Jazz after 30 yrs! I just cannot justify the new Honda Jet ;-)

I always liked the early Indians over the Harleys, myself, due to the fully valanced fenders
better protection from the elements and better looking too IMO
Maybe me buying a scooter isn't much of a surprise, taking that into consideration

I'm relatively new to the 2 wheeled world; but loving it!  You've mentioned one of the 2 things I constantly hear about Silverwings ...ie. Honda products are bullet proof.  The other thing is that a Silverwing is a scooter on steroids. Mine is a 2005 which I've had for 2 seasons.  There are only 17,000kms on it. Some might say it is almost broken in.
