Another concept bike, the Elysium (I hope I spelled that right) would appeal to me.

Lack of weather protection doesn't seem to bother Adventure Bike riders, nor lack of centre stand the Cruiser and Race Replica/Sports Bike enthusiasts (though wet weather riding seems to be another matter for them). Even bikes fitted with a centre stand a lot of owners prefer just to use the side stand.

As for open chain, there's far more motorcycles on the road using chain drive than with shaft dive and belt drive. It's no longer the hassle it once and submerging your chain in a tin of melted grease is a thing of the past. Aerosol chain lube doesn't fling off like it like it once used to, and there's good vacuum chain oilers you can fit and adjust the flow for wet or dry riding.

The Integra was slated for it's open chain when it came out a couple of years ago, now there's a few owners of the 700 and 750 models on the Muppets forum and the open chain hasn't been mentioned.

Unfortunately to me Vultus sounds somewhat like a disease or something vulgar. Either there's a whole lot of rake on those forks or some odd handlebars. I'm not sure what Honda's trying to do of late the new GW doesn't do it for me anymore then the Honda F6B which to me is just another stab at the Rune which didn't go over very well either. I like some of the new 700 series of Honda's but they really ought to get their stylists off the sauce.

It classified on my local dealer website as a "touring " bike.
It only has a three gallon capacity tank. For that kind of money, I'd go with the retro CB1100 especially the 2014 deluxe version with ABS and 4.5 gallon tank to go with the wonderful inline four engine. It's also about the same weight as a Silverwing

yea, but with 80 MPG, it can go 240 miles. A lot more than the 4 gal Swing. I still prefer my Swing.

Reincarnating this discussion for 2018, I have heard only good thoughts of those who have actually gotten on the NM4 and ridden it. Anyone out there have updated thoughts plus or minus?

From what I have reviewed without seeing one in person, the low seat height (25.8 inches) would give an old fart like me a better chance to keep it upright during slow parking lot/back yard maneuvers. And the gas mileage is similar to Honda's DCT 700cc output of high MPG (60-75). Smooth acceleration, efficiency, plastic fairing protection seems good, except for pi** poor windshield that might require an immediate aftermarket upgrade ($200+).

Silver Wing has a nice 98 degree knee angle. Vultus has a 105 degree--more outstretch leg ability.

Price is a little high ($11,299 US)

Honda says the NC750x DCT is coming to US around July 2018--lower cost, fantastic bike, but 79 degree knee angle--bummer!

IT'S BACKKKKK for 2018. Very different looking bike...

Like you stated Price is high.

Wheels are 17 better tire choices and handling. Back rest is nice. Storage is limited to a few smaller compartments. 61 MPG advertised. I get 55 MPG all day long on SW.

Don't know how many sold the first years?

IF you like it buy one. YOU will get asked a lot of questions. What is that????

If you can wait a couple years, I bet you'll be able to buy a NOS 2018 NM4 for a clearance price.

Do you have a link to the new bike, everything I see for the 2018 model looks exactly the same as the 2016/17.

The 2018 is the same as the 2016. Think Mech 1 twa meant the bike itself is "very different looking" not the 2018 vs. 2016 models.
