| I just fell across this free site which means that the colonials in the new world don't have it all to themselves as now the rest of us can show where we've been. http://bighugelabs.com/map.php Having sorted out your map, you'll need to adjust the size; I used 250x125. (Sorry Waspie - Portland's too small to show up...!!!) |

| Gerry, I assume we are talking places we have been on our bikes.
If not - well!!!!
As for Portland! (aka Fraggle) - probably better it can't be seen. |

| Yes, Waspie, I think places we've ridden to, certainly that's what I've filled in; otherwise as I see it, there's no point. And yes, Rodenbach, I too have some gaps!! Just need Holland & Portugal to finish it off. Loved Belgium by the way - rode around the Ardennes last year! |

| As for Fraggle - half the time I went on courses to Osprey it was either blowing a gale & raining or so foggy you couldn't see anything - but at least the messes were friendly... (hic!)!! |

| Alas Osprey is a flat barren waste ground. I took this in 2009 and it hasn't changed one iota! Taken from Nickodemus Knob looking down on Osprey, snake pass on the right!!!! |

| @Atrick: thanks for the map Gerry. Holland has some surprisingly beautiful spots: like the provinces of "Zeeland" and -less known- "Limburg". There's also a chance to go beaver spotting - the animal that is - in the Biesbosch @Waspie: you're into panoramic photography, Doug?

| I visited Rotterdam on a warship a few years back & always wanted to do the rest of the country. My apology, I should have put "The Netherlands" but was being a bit lazy! |

| @pippobis2: could/should have added 'The Netherlands' to your list when you were in Bruges, last Summer. From there it's only 20km or so to the Dutch border -> the village of 'Sluis' is world famous in Belgium, for it's sex-shops ... |

| Isle of Mann was not the best riding, but the races were the best two or four wheeled racing I've every witnessed. |

| Haven't shown UK as that is where I live. Hope to add Germany, Luxembourg, Italy and Spain next year.
Isle of Man roads are great when on the TT course, off the actual course they are bumpy as hell.

| You can't see the Channel Islands on the map (done Jersey -twice- on motorbike) The shortest way home from St.Helier is by ferry to... Portsmouth, then ride the 130 Miles to Dover (via Hastings) and catch the ferry to Ostend (obsolete nowadays), Dunkirk or Calais. A 'shortcut' of 200 Miles in comparison to the road from St Malo to Dunkirk. |

| Scale's too small to show the CI (same problem with the IOW) I guess. As for your short cut, using ferries must take longer - unless you must have some sort of ferry fetish or don't like French roads...!! |

| There were a couple of issues: I visited Jersey in both 1979 and 1980. The only ferry off the island to France would arrive in St Malo in the late evening, making it a night ride through 'rural' France (in those days no motorway near Brittany). The distance (+/-330 Miles through France) would also mean at least one, probably two night stops for fuel. In those days 24/7 stations were very rare off-motorway. Whereas the 'double ferry' would mean 8 hours on the ship to Portsmouth (= time for lunch etc), and then a non-stop ride to Dover (on 'tax-free' Jersey petrol in those days) + a 4 hour crossing to Ostend (=time for dinner) Filling up in Ostend and then just a 75 Miles ride home to Antwerp... The saving of fuel equalled out the cost for the Portsmouth ferry. So it was not more expensive to hop over to the UK, and en route have a look at the famous pier and lights in Brighton. Now that's what I call travelling swiftly and with style |

| I'd love to fill up a map of Europe. Grab a Victory Cross Country Tour, load it up and ride all over. All the States and Provinces as well. Of course, I'd have to win the damn lotto for that to happen. |
