| Hi my name is Dale Suggs I live in Muscle Shoals Alabama I just purchased an 06 silverwing. I have added the raised back rest that came off of my reflex which I just sold. and I have just added a Givi windshield. I am thinking of buying a corbin seat. but I don't know if I would like it. I have only seen one in pictures. Does it change the seat height any? Is it really worth the money? Is there anyone in the north alabama area that has one I might could look at in person? Also does anyone know of a used one for sale? thanks Dale |

| Corbin seats are much firmer than the stock seat and over time mold to fit your butt.
I recommend a roadtrip to visit Dale (jdeeranton) and sit on his.
Probably the cheapest fastest and easiest "showroom" to get to. He is only about 75 miles east of you...about an 1hr 30min drive. |

| Hi Whitewater,
Welcome to the forum. Just a note...When I first purchased my swing I could only ride about 60 miles before my butt (Sciatic nerve) started to hurt, so I went with the Corbin. Made a big difference and now I can ride all day with no problem. |

| Dale (Whitewater), I have a Corbin and a modified/customized OEM saddle. I have not put the corbin on the bike yet this year, but will do that this week and plan to ride it for a bit. I don't think I'm in the market to sell either one, but you are welcome to ride over and have a look / sit on it. Kim and I are leading a ride for some couples from our church on Saturday, May 8th. You should ride over and take a spin with us. Leaving 1661 Balch Road, Madison, AL around 9:30am. PM me or send me an e-mail - jdeereanton(at)yahoo(dot)com |

| Hi jdeereanton:' Thanks for the invitation, however I have to work Saturday. but it sure sounds like fun.(maybe next time though) I am in the oriental rug business on hwy 72 in Madison and at the Limestone flea market, so I am in the huntsville area every weekend. I would like to come by one day and take a look at your corbin seat. I am looking forward to meeting you and just getting a chance to talk with another silverwing lover thanks Dale Suggs |

| Dale (whitewater),
Ahhh, you are real close on Saturday. We will try to get over to the Limestone Flea Markt this coming weekend. Our meet-up point for the Saturday ride is on Balch Road (Madison Co.) so we will be within 4 miles of each other. |

| I could only get 30-35 minutes of comfort on the original seat so I purchased a Corbin through my dealer because I heard so many good things about them. After having it installed I can now ride about 45 minutes before the numbness sets in. I talked to several GW riders in my club and they say they can only go an hour or two before everything from the belt down is numb. One rider though says he does well with his stock seat and can ride all day without any discomfort. I personally don't think the Corbin is worth $500 as it isn't any more comfortable than the stock seat but I also now believe we are all made differently and can handle riding in different ways. Good Luck whatever you decide. ps the seat adds about an inch in height. |

| I can get a tankful of gas (about 150 miles, about 2 - 2 1/2 hours) comfortably on my DayLong (Russell). The other Corbin, but better. This is after needing to stop for relief after no more than 45 minutes on the stock saddle. The DayLong adds about an inch of height. |

| I know several Goldwing owners who have Corbin seats. All of them say it takes a couple thousand miles riding to break the seat in. Once that's done they all say it's a great seat. Personally on my '93 GW I preferred a brand new OEM seat from Honda over a Road Sofa I tried. |

| Years ago I bought a Corbin seat for my Kawa Concours and I was very disappointed. It did not make a big difference and was fairly expensive. I have also heard from several SW owners about problems with getting the Corbin seat to fit just right, i.e., problems locking the seat and unlocking the seat. And I think the cost is outrageous. I found the stock seat on my '07 uncomfortable, so I added the BeadRider (I think that is what it is called) plus a sheepskin cover. I have gone for all day rides without any butt discomfort. I'm only 5'7" and the 1/2 inch or so that the beadrider adds to the seat is not a problem for me at all. This is just my two cents on the subject, but I would hate to hear of someone spending the big bucks for the Corbin and finding it didn't help them at all. Not everyone loves those seats. |
