Easy gps connection to brake switch

I have the mounting bracket made and was planning to connect the gps  using power from the right hand brake switch. I purchase the red in color 1/4" piggyback connector. However, the spade width on my 2007 SW appears to be approximately 3/16" much narrower than the recommended 1/4". What am I missing. Thank you in advance for your help.
