Working flame throwers are considered a most lethal weapon. Even using one as a warning would land a person in hot water for a long time.

I hooked something like this up on my 1950 Ford when I was a kid. You would put the car in 1st gear, speed up, pull the choke all the way out, and hit the switch which I hooked up to the spark plugs I had installed into the tail pipe extensions, let off the gas and let the flames shoot out the dual exhaust. Kept tail gaters at a reasonable distance and impressed the chicks! What great days and times!
