PostSubject: Seat Cover/Protector   Seat Cover/Protector I_icon_minitimeSun Jul 17, 2022 2:41 pm

Hi all

I’ve searched here, but cannot find an answer…

I’m looking for a seat protector for my SW; something that will protect the original seat’s fabric from sun damage. Much like a whole cover, but just for the seat when the bike is parked all day in the sun. You know, like the ugly couch protectors that very old people used to “decorate” their homes with.

Any ideas?

Mahalo!

A large beach towel of your choice, if you know a seamstress have a elastic band sewn along the edges.

Why not a sheepskin? Protects the seat and adds comfort too. Cool in the summer heat and warm in the winter.

I have a bead seat with a piece of non-slip Oxford matting underneath. That is more-or-less permanent.
I have a plastic waterproof cover I can put over it all if I think it's going to rain while the bike's parked up.

BTDT, and sopping wet if you are not there to take it off when it rains. LOL

Then just buy a cheapo elasticated waterproof seat cover, of which there are dozens of for sale on eBay. Some include a carrying bag and anti-theft straps. The cheapo cover will stop UV damage to the seat over time, and prevent you getting a wet arse when you return to your scooter when it's raining.

For such a simple solution, I'm both amused and mystified why you thought it necessary to pick the collective brain on here.

Tucano leg covers have a built in seat cover. Great quality, but a decidedly ‘Euro’ look. Wink
