Thank you for all here who knowingly and unknowingly helped me along with my Silver Wing adventure. I lusted after the SW for years before finally taking the plunge. What an awesome machine. I was however, intimidated a bit by the size and weight. I fixed up everything on my SW with help mostly from this site. I really loved my SW. I had no idea the ultimate adventure would only last a few months. But here I am. My SW is still in the garage, but now it's owned by another, who will likely ride it every day, which is as it should be. He is picking it up later this afternoon. Just for information sake, it sold in three days. 2008 SW with about 16k miles. $3,200. I feel of course it is worth more, lord knows I have more into it, but the price was what I asked and it seemed fair, all things considered. The guy who bought it will save a bunch of time and money with it because he lives on an island. A motocycle or scooter is a ticket to the front of the line at all Washington State Ferry Docks. NO WAITING and costs less than half what a car does. He's a happy camper. I am happy for him. I would still be driving the SW if I hadn't discovered the other "automatic" Honda, the DCT. Ride safe my friends!

Good to hear you're still a Honda rider, the DCT's have come a long way for the better, my SW600 story would have never come to pass, if the dealer had the "DCT" I was lusting after a while back, I still see one in my future, resistance is futile IAC, good luck and keep rubber side down

That’s a really nice SW you sold. So, what DCT bike is in the stable now?

Very nice! I like those…how is the power of a 700 cc DCT?

It's not exactly a crotch rocket, but with 48 ponies you can expect to get from 0-to-60 mph in around five seconds. It's a cruiser at heart so in that regard, way, way more power than you'll need.

Very nice! Good luck with the DCT and keep an eye on the chain. It should serve you well.

Fast enough to be fun ride it. I think the DCT might be a little quicker than the manual? Advertised at 5.9. Real world 6+. But like I said, this bike is a cruiser not a race bike! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tN4aI7Hjr4I Top speed (about 105 mph, 169 kph) will depend heavily on the driver and accessories the bike is equipped with. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L0Hag_dCpoM Regardless, fast enough for me. |
