First topic message reminder :

Just thought I would give a little update, just hit 500 miles so going in shortly for the first service.

Seat height is low at 780mm, just puts me on tippy toes a little compared to the wing.

Weight difference is phenomenal so much lighter, I do notice buffeting a little more due to the lower weight but popping onto the centre stand is so much easier.

Great turn of speed even when gently running the engine in, you do notice the slight down in power compared to the Wings two cylinder engine but still a very swift scooter.

Electric windshield is great just press the switch to suit your riding, great in the hot weather to get a face full of cool air, couple of inch taller would suit me better, Givi do a taller option.

Currently averaging 88mpg knocking around town which seems good.

Very happy with it indeed, great alternative to the Silverwing, but having two previously even though the design is getting on a bit the Silverwing is still one hell of a scoot.

Taking delivery of any new maxi late in the year isn't the best, but at least you can check out the Forza's LED lights as the days get shorter, alter the illumination level of the instrument display to your liking, and when you are riding in the rain it's surprising how dry you keep just wearing jacket and jeans. Especially when the Givi screen is fitted.

It's nice losing about 60kg in weight after being used to a Silver Wing. Having HSTC making the Forza very easy to ride in rain, and if you've been used to riding on Bridgestone Hoops, OE tyres like the Pirelli Scorpions fitted to my 300 are on another level. Plus this compact style of Forza very easy to clean.

I really am very grateful for your tips and general support.

In the light of your previous comments about the screen, I will phone the dealer tomorrow and suggest to him I shall get the screen and fit it myself; a bit of occupational therapy will do me good.
I shall be interested to see what tyres are fitted. I'm a fan of Bridgestone Hoops since they turned the X9500 from a bike I was wary of into a very user-friendly machine. We shall see.

With any luck, Steve will brave the weather and lead me on a Ride before November arrives so both Forza and I will get a good shake-down.

The Forza has landed!
I collected it this morning from Newcastle Motorcycles; it was parked beside Paul's desk and I think he was almost as pleased as me that it was finally there.
He spent a great deal of time with me to go slowly through the paperwork and the walk-round.
The gilt on the gingerbread was that both Givi screen and topbox had arrived in time for them to be fitted.
I had a gentle ride home; drizzle was in the air, the roads looked very greasy and the tyres are new, of course.

I'm thrilled to bits and will write more in due course.

Absolutely made up for you Mike, how amazing is the low weight.

I fell in love with the Forza when I took out the demonstrator, Jamie.
I was sad to give up the Silverwing but the arthritis is getting set in my knees (and hands) and I could no longer cope with the weight.
The HONDA Forza will enable me to keep riding for years to come.
In the waiting period I asked myself several times whether I should go for something else but realised it was Honda or nothing.
I want to hang around here, too, so don't feel quite so guilty as I still have the brand name to my name. Wink

I met a guy on a brand new (grey) 350 Forza a couple of days ago and we exchanged views. He was very impressed. I think I was a little disappointed. It does seem very short of storage space. Nowhere - even in the top box - is there the remotest chance of fitting my Extra Large Schuberth S2.

How is it for weather protection?

I have a Givi VN56 on my 350, giving oodles of room.
My dealer, Paul, was dubious about having such a big box on it but admitted it didn't look out of place.
It gives a combined total of around 100 litres, I think.
I have established, too, that my large Bikers Friend cylinder bag fits snugly on the pillion seat and doesn't interfere with my space. I can't remember its volume but it's BIG! Smile

My Schuberth M1 XL neither fitted in the Silverwing or the 350 but my HJC XL full face fits in both. I use a Givi TRK46 which takes the M1 when I use it during the summer.

Apologies; I have deleted Smellybeard's last post, the one about the cost of the Givi box.
It was a mistake, my incompetence.

Those buttons... they just sit there begging to be clicked, mesmerising and suddenly - it's too late.

Gone forever.
