New SW Owner from Ocala, FL

Hi to all SW owners, been lurking the forum for a few years and searching for a SW for just as long, finally found a 2012 in excellent mechanical condition and new tires  , cosmetics are ok, but I'll remedy that over winter.

IAC I come from a long relationship with big bore bikes, my last one been a 21 year old heavily modded 1999 Kawasaki ZRX1100 that I bought new !!, the reason for my "zrx212" U/N from the ZRXOA board.

I came to experience scooters a lot in my visits to S.A. and really enjoyed their simplicity and usefulness, in recent years I acquired two Linhai Aeolus 300cc(the second one was to be a parts bike, but it was easily restored) , mostly for wife  as that's what she drove mostly in her native country, I went completely thru them and they are quite good looking, reliable and comfortable, but lacked in power and refinement in some areas IMO.
Having been(still) a professional, motorcycle, car and A+P mechanic and lifetme tinkerer, the whole range of possibilities and ease of maintenance of the cvt, etc. really appeal to me, short version I like working on stuff as a hobby !!

I'm 61 with some health issues and decided on a simpler to operate, more comfortable bike was what I wanted to try for a while, the SW is very reliable, very well engineered and way easier to maintain than other bikes i owned, be ready for lot's of questions, I'll try search function 1st .

Great intro XRX212 and welcome aboard the board.  As you already know, lots of great information here and a mostly willing bunch ready to help you.  Remember, "Search" is a good friend here.

Well the reason we live in Florida is because the lack of winters, snow, etc., 25F with 15-20 winds is cold anywhere , but It will be 50's in am, up to 80 by mid week and clear, primo riding weather

I also welcome you zrx212! Weather in New Mexico this time of year is not great but nothing like the great northern climes. Still in the 50’s during the day but I’m looking forward to seeing a change to warmer days. You are absolutely correct in that the search function is your friend. My 2007 is not really hard to work on and a blast to ride. I’ve had big bikes before but still really dig my Silverwing.

And as you know from your lurking around for the last few years that this is the BEST SWing site in the Solar System. I've never had anybody from another planet say otherwise so I guess it's true.
Oh Ya, and send some of that "cold" weather up here. There's a couple I know from here who are vacationing down there right now and they refuse to send some warmth up here. They are going to keep it down there with them for a while. Go Figure...

Just by looking at your pictures you sure have a lot of snow and cold down there...
