| Hi everyone i just recently bought my first s wing 2008 model did not pay alot for i just had to get one after having a ride of my sons 2012 model such an amazing bike been running fine untill today the FI light came on then the bike cut out i managed to get it going off a jump and seemed ok again got me home but the light came on once or twice again.Has anyone had this fault ? i could really do with some advice |

| I would start with the simple stuff first; check the battery connections are tight, then the earth connection to the frame, then look at fuses. The main fuse connector is behind the left sidecover. After that...could be a number of possibiliities, I would check the sidestand switch to make sure it is bolted on tight and the connector is clicked on properly. Certainly sounds more likely a loose or corroded connector somewhere.
The FI system has a memory that records faults and can be put into diagnostic mode to tell you what those were; you can get a service manual download from the Facebook Silverwing owners group that will tell you how to do that if needed. |

| Thanks i will go through what you said i allready took the battery off and cleaned up the connectors on the battery with a bit sand paper, it looked like white powder on there been told it could be a sign i need a new battery , it seems to run ok now but i will still go over everything you said thanks for the info and i will keep posting updates |

| Most likely the 'white powder' is just a bit of corrosion in the connection. Wipe it down with some water an baking soda to neutralize and remove it. |
