| If anyone has the original OEM brake pad thickness number I would appreciate it, front and or rear. |

| I searched service manual nothing on pad thickness only wear. Little groove in center of pad is minimum wear indicator. If it's not visible time to replace pads. I'm guessing 5-6 MM new. |

| Ok, so I checked the EBC catalog. They show their FA196HH pads applicable to both ABS and non-ABS model Silverwings as well as for both 256 mm and 276 mm diameter rotors. The pads are 9.8 mm thick. HTH.

| 9.8 mm then. You got me thinking and took a look at my front pads about 4 mm left on inside pad. Ordered a new pad set OE Part # 06456-MCT-026 . I bought a pair of front and rear brake rotors on EBAY last year used but like new. $60 for both a good deal. Brake parts are a wear item even rotors.
7-10 days or so I'll measure them. Needed an air filter too bumped It $$ to free shipping.
Spring service time soon. Brake fluid, coolant, diff. and engine oil change. |

Your SWAG is good I'm helping a friend get his GL 1500 ready for sale, pad thickness in the OEM service manual is 5 and 6 mm pad thickness, betting the S'Wing is the same. |

Tim Given Mech 1 twa’s exact measurement of the OEM pads, I gonna suggest that that 9.8 mm measurement I quoted from the EBC site included both the backing plate and the pads. Sorry for any confusion. Tim |
