I'm new to owning a silverwing scooter always had the Honda vfr but thought with getting older and the constant average speed cameras in Kent try something new ! I was wondering if any one could help me , l have owned this silverwing for a few months , tonight Conway home the fi light came on and the bike just shut down , nothing works , no lights , ignition except for a buzzing noise from one of the regulator behind the side panel when l turn the ignition on .if anyone could shed some light on this would be greatly appreciated. Have checked all the fuses all seem good |

| Good!
I've had some lovely rides in Kent with the X9 Owners Club.
I can't help with your problem but someone will be along soon. |

| Hello and welcome to the forum. Sorry to near about your problem.
It might help to know the year and miles on your Silverwing. However by your description you're going to need access to the Factory Service Manual (FSM) to wade thru the many possibilities of problem and the PGI-FM failure codes.
That said, there are a couple of notes in Chapter 5 (5-2) which you might find of interest. The first says; A faulty PGI-FM system is often related to poorly connected or corroded connectors. Another note says; The system is provided with a fail-safe function to secure minimum running capability even when there is trouble in the system. Yet another note says; that when an abnormality is detected in the injectors, and/or Crankshaft Position sensor and Camshaft Position sensor the fail safe function stops the engine to avoid engine damage.
Dunno what else to tell you, but you should start by removing that left side body panel to check the ECM wire harness connections and see if you can figure out where that buzzing noise is coming from.
Please let us know hiw you get on with this problem. We all benefit from shared information.

| Hello & welcome bud.
Kentish man
Or
Man of Kent
?
You say you have checked ALL the fuses, did you find the main 30 amp one, that's behind the left hand body panel that's located near the battery box ? |

| Ah good, us Kentish men are the best of the bunch :Happy Holiday: Ok, the next thing to do is turn the ignition on & with a screw driver held to your ear (by the handle) touch the tip on each relay in turn, identify & remove the one that is making the 'arcing' sound & substitute it with another off the bike that has the same number on the case or prise the cover off the offending relay & clean the contacts with fine emery/carborundum paper. |

| Also try a gentle tap all around the relay. As Bern said , contacts may have pitted and stuck. |

| "Kentish man
Or
Man of Kent
?"
This sent me a-Googling. Not only is there a lot of info available, but the origins of the discrimination can be traced back to the 5th Century.
Which is kind of mind-blowing to an American. At a relatively youthful 243, we are still a bounding puppy among nations.
I remember eating in a 300-year old restaurant near Stratford-upon-Avon and I (at 6'1") had to duck down to pass through each doorway, because normal people were much shorter then. |
