| Just wondering, can the air vent at the front be blocked, just thought it may stop some wind noise. or would it lead to problems !! |

| IIRC that air vent is to help equalized the air pressure and reduce back pressure created by air flowing over your helmet and pushing you forward.
But to answer your question, yes, why not give it a try.

| I blocked mine with some soft black foam, got tired of the bugs getting through, no noticeable change in noise but way fewer bugs. |

| Just put some tape over it and see if anything changes first . I doubt it. Helmet -windshield most of the problem. Might keep a few of bugs from getting behind shield. |

| About six or seven years ago I fitted a strip of that self-adhesive SAENG Stealth screen edging along the top outside of the bottom section of my Givi Airflow. Just long enough to go between the rails for the screen top section when the air vents through.
At the time it had nothing to do with air pressure, wind noise, or turbulence. I just had some of the edging left over from my my Helix years and thought it be good way to use it up, and it was.
In use I found the curved edging strip more or less stopped any rain droplets being blown up through the vent and onto me by catching them like a gutter. The edging strip stayed in place too, it's still on my now boxed up Airflow in the garage. |

| Thank you Mech 1 twa & Meldrew, gives me some more options to look at.
Meldrew, so you never attempted to block the "Center Vent" then, just edging strip on the screen as described. I asked the quest because at the moment I am still getting wind noise even after using the Givi screen in various positions (but not fully up as that would distort my vision) on the OEM screen if I put head down a little, It was a lot quieter. I am 5'5" so I don't tower over the screen, just wish I could get rid of the wind noise a bit more |

| GoonerKev are you sure you bought the right bike for you? it seems you want to change or "improve " everything about the machine. I would suggest you ride the bike a few thousand miles before you feel the need to "improve" it. I am on my second Silverwing the first one I traded in after 40000mls. My current one will be five years old in July and that has 41600mls. I have not felt the need to do half of the things you have come up with. I have an Airflow screen, I fitted Dr pulley sliders, and I have a top box I also changed the mirrors for a pair off my old Burgman 400. |

| Old LimeyWhat have I changed....... Done an oil change Had new brakes shoes fitted New tyre fitted New Dics fitted Got Air Filter for replacement Got Belt for replacement Waiting for DR pulleys & rollers to arrive and fit Put on Alarm Put on Spot Lights (for Safe Riding & to be seen) Put on Givi Airflow Screen Put on Heated Grips Enquired about the Front Air Vent !!! Put on Lighted Mirrors (Again for safety & to be seen) I'm sorry if that does not meet to your approval, but I want the Bike how I want it & I am paying for it. I prefer riding it that my Scomadi (New) and my old Vespa PX. We are all different on what we do to our own machines (thank God) otherwise we would all be like Robots.............Don't you think mate And having just retired from the Fire Service, I have seen a lot and I mean a lot of horrible Bike accidents, with drivers stating.......I never saw him !!!Kev |
